One of the rare born and raised New Yorkers left in the city. Cheryl received her BFA from The Ohio State University where she was introduced to her Gaga training by teachers Ohad Fishof and Noa Zuk. After college she apprenticed for Gallim Dance. Cheryl and Dana began to work together and have contest's as to who's more chill. They performed together at 2017 Israeli Dance Festival alongside Haggai Cohen-Milo. Cheryl is very exicited to continue working with Dana and Danaka Dance.
NYC based performance artist originally from Utah and California. She has studied at various programs and institutions which have offered her various performing experiences across the USA. She holds a BFA from The Juilliard School. Whitney is also pursuing entrepreneurial interests alongside the spheres of dance science/kinesiology and Dance/Movement Therapy. She is enthusiastic about exploring the profound connections between the mind and body. She is so excited to be collaborating with DANAKA.
Sara Pereira da Silva
Originally from Portugal, Sara came to New York to complete her MA studies in Arts Management, after spending few years in hong Kong. Sara joined DANAKA in February 2017, where she's in charge of the ensemble's community outreach, productions management and assistant coordinator of the Out of Israel Festival that Katz curates.
One of DANAKA's original cast member, Chihiro performed in most of Dana's creations since the two met back in 2009 when Katz was choreographing in Martha's Vineyard. Chihiro is still involved with the ensemble's productions till this day both as rehearsal director and event's videographer.
Kristin is an original cast of Thousand Plateaus, and a collaborator artist of Highways first phase. She's a Juilliard graduate who's also a massage therapist and recently began to create her own work.
